Ethics Panel Video from Špela Petrič at Kapelica Gallery

TMIAA-video-shot

A video of the ethics panel portion of Špela Petrič’s performance, Confronting Vegetal Otherness: Skotopoiesis, at Kapelica Gallery from September 2015 is now online. In her work, Špela Petrič investigates plant life as the unchallenged frontier of estrangement, revealing the limits of human empathy as well as its anthropocentric underpinnings. Plants are, in their omnipresence, utterly foreign complexity and lack of identification elements allowing anthropomorphism, ideal subjects of study in an attempt to establish an egalitarian relation with living otherness.
